NSS students of VNRVJIET recognize the primary importance of human relationships. They understand that relationships between people play an important role as vehicles for change, advocacy and equity. With this in mind, they strive hard to advocate and accomplish various programs. It is noteworthy to observe that the NSS team has put large offorts in releasing the news letter and aims high for the future too.

Being a social worker is often challenging yet a rewarding career. Students of NSS units of VNRVJIET have been responsible for helping Individuals, families and groups of people through service, social justice, integrity and competence. I am glad that the Team NSS is giving shape to its ideas and bringing out the newsletter highlighting all the activities organized during the academic years 2018 to 2020.

NSS Special Camp provides the volunteers, a chance to " SERVE THE DESERVED " every year and makes us experience that Service is the best way to let out negative energy To provide unbiased service to the society is the primary objective We ensure that everyone who is in need is reached out to enhance one's standard of living NSS Special Camp is one such awaited event of the year by the volunteers, which not only gives us an opportunity to have a close look for existing conditions of rural India but also helps to learn from the ability of the villagers who lead a happy life despite the scarcity of resources.
The camp was initiated by a door to door survey by the volunteers who surveyed the villages on various aspects such as education, sanitation, anganwadi conditions, health issues, irrigation, farming methods , maintenance , infrastructure etc. The volunteers also exchanged their knowledge about various government schemes in a way possible . Productive feedback sessions were held among the volunteers to help them share their experiences and suggestions as per the survey. The door to door survey helps the every volunteer to understand the situations prevailing in the rural areas.
On the Second day of the camp, Education being the theme for the day, volunteers visited the Government high school in Reddypalli and motivated the students regarding the importance of education and career guidance, various professions and paths to achieve them were illustrated.The volunteers talked to the primary school children about the necessity of education . Also, they encouraged the students to identify and Improve their talents ,Basic mathematics and vedic math techniques were also taught various ways in which the students could continue to gain knowledge, educate themselves.
A free medical camp was organized by the volunteers and students to create awareness among the villagers about health and hygiene. A good response was observed from the health camp and about 150 villagers consulted the doctors. Villagers were treated by the doctors and required medicines were given free of cost. The perspective of service is evolving from spreading awareness of problems to try solving with technical & innovative solutions and look deep into societal needs. The volunteers took an active part in helping the doctors to make the camp successful, got to know the health issues faced by villagers.

As a step towards generosity, a powerful fist enclosing thousands of morsels "FIST FULL OF RICE" was initiated by team NSS. It is intended to reach a few of those million hungry stomachs by collecting rice from individuals with an objective of inculcating social responsibility in every individual of VNRVJIET. The good cause was commenced by placing collection boxes in college premises. The collected rice was given to the orphanages and the needy such as CARE FOR UNCARE organization.
Every year, the technical symposium of the institute, Convergence, indudes the theme "Saaradhi" organised by the social clubs of our college.It started with a belief and motto " Engineers leading society". A belief that Engineers are the best architects of a better tomorrow, with science and technology as their wits against social evils has been the driving force behind the endeavors of the volunteers to give their thought for the society and those thoughts took their form in reality as several events that include Aavishkar, I'm not a hero, Wil you be my teacher,Nss Galery and Raithanna Aavishkarana
It is said that " In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn ". Sixth standard students of ZPHS at Pragathi nagar and Sec-bad were taught various skills from making art & crafts and paper bags. dancing and drawing Inspiring stories were shared as a part of the interactive session with the students and motivated them to give their best participation further in both academic and extra-curricular activities. This event not only provided a learning platform to the blooming minds, but also helped the participants realize that "sharing knowledge is the best ever service one can do to others".
It is a Forum with those inspiring individuals who took up the rugged path to make this society a better place for living. Let those heroes who say "I am not a Hero" start their journey into light from here. The speakers for the event are Mr.G.V.Ramanjaneyulu, an Agricultural Research scientist striving to make people aware and farmers to follow natural farming methods, Mr.Mohammad Sujathullah, who feeds about thousand people every day and founder of "Humanity First", Mrs.Archana Suresh,founder of "Bring a Smile" organisation who helps the needy .We had an open forum to discuss and share ideas with the guests.
To carry forward the theme of sustainability and bring awareness regarding the usage of clay idols, as a part of “Ganesh Chathurthi” celebrations, we the team NSS conducts an event named “CLAY GANESHA” in our college premises. The main moto of the event was to spread awareness from the deterioration caused by pop idols. Students were given an opportunity to showcase their creativity by making the clay idols. NSS Volunteers also acknowledged the consumers regarding the harmful effects and pollution caused by POP idols. Parallelly the clay idols which were procured were also sold at low cost to faculty, students.
Team NSS in association with Abhaya foundation organized diya distribution event on the occasion of Diwali. ARMS is a day school for children with special needs, run by Abhaya care foundation.A stall of beautiful handmade greeting cards, gift bags, bookmarks and diyas are displayed for sale by the Abhaya foundation team members. The event received huge response from students and faculty and they encouraged the members of foundation by buying the diyas and greeting cards. The students heart fully appreciated the children of Arms school and gave a great response, made Diwali to be more colorful for every one of us.
"One cannot help everyone, but everyone can help someone" Donating blood is one of the most significant contributions that one can contribute towards the society. With this as a driving force Team NSS VNRVJIET is being able to organize the Blood donation camp every year in the college premises. The main objective of the blood donation camp was to spread awareness amongst students and faculty regarding the importance of donating blood and about the victims of dreadful diseases such as Thalassemia and the alarming requirement of blood samples for those patients. The camp was organized by the team with the help of college management.
On the fourth day, with the motto Trees are the living symbol of progressive nature , the volunteers organized a plantation drive, in collaboration with an NGO named VRIDHI FOUNDATION, where one plant was provided to almost every house of the village The Villagers were explained how important it was in today's scenario to have more plants around. Also, they were asked nothing but to pour a mug of water everyday so that the plant survives. Also, the volunteers spoke to them about the necessity of growing more plants and the significance of every small effort.Some of the volunteers were also participated in this plantation.
With freezing temperatures prevailing around the winter. As a gesture of kindness, we the team NSS have taken a step in contributing blankets to the needful. The awareness regarding blanket drive was done vigorously in college and good number of blankets were collected by placing drop boxes in college. Students and Faculty contributed significantly. There was great contribution from the students and faculty .The collected Blankets were given to the Slums near Borabanda.The donation drive not only gifted them with blanket but a little smile on their faces which is unexpected and made us feel great.
Vertical garden is an innovative, effortless and highly productive growing system that uses bottom-up and top-down supports for a wide variety of plants in both small and large scale. Application of plants to the vertical surfaces make contributions to urban ecology due to its functions such as aesthetical and visual values as well as production of buildings, reducing certain ambient problems. They reduce the solar reflectance of a structure and are helpful in enlivening the ambiance and thus remain as a green solution for urban settings. With the help of Management and support of the coordinators, we have successfully installed vertical garden.
This is an event where team NSS expresses its gratitude selfless service rendered by many ignored workmen of our society and recognize their importance for harmony in our daily lives.The unseen work of these daily heroes is worth more than just an appreciation. To give happiness in the form of recognition to these daily heroes like security guards, drivers and sweeping staff, they were awarded badges which a token of love and respect from the team. The team also conjugated with the Independence Day celebrations held at police station. To recognize their selfless service rendered to the society, the policemen were awarded with badges, we rejoiced with them.
The vision is to throw light on the current problems and create awareness among each individual Team NSS,VNRVJIET organized "SALUTE PARADE" in collaboration with VNR Student Force. The Principal, teachers and students didn't leave any stone unturned in making this monumental day a memorable one. The NCC band of our college played a note which reverberated everyone with the feelings of patriotism. The entire college courtyard was resplendent in the shades of tricolor Student clubs and student chapters of our college have come up with different social themes, portrayed their hac ideas and exhibited their solutions during the parade.
